Lindsey racing Just released a Digital usb programable maf kit for under $900,
the sensor itself with a cone filter is available fro under $550.

I thing the pricing is much more affordable and upgradeable....

Hope this post was helpful.

I'm a little confused as to why someone would spend that kind of money for...what??
In a stock application (i.e. not boosted turbo) what is the benefit? I realize that the barn door set up we have is not great but how does a MAF setup improve the performance of our NA cars?
I race with a guy who has basically the same car as mine (see avatar) and he's spent well over a grand with no difference in his dyno..

Can someone prove this improves the cars performance?

Thanks

In relation to NA cars, I figure the only benefits to a MAF conversion would be better response and more accurate reading. If a MAF conversion for an NA 944 was like 150 bucks I could see the reason for doing the conversion. But I'm sometimes frugal. I was offered a cheap MAF and jumped on it (THANKS BTW! You know who you are!).

The proof is in the basic technology. Sweeping arm on a contact strip vs. a sensative resistor. Not that I'm educated enough on these to give a good argument.

In all reality, a MAF on a mostly stock setup isn't going to make one car faster around a track than another. Not much anyway.
