I'll go through the thread today and update the list of participants...
Pricing breaks will be the same as the original group buy...
To comment on a couple of the questions, the primary benefit for the 944/951 platform is NOT weight savings...note that the IMI unit is about half the weight of the starters for the original 924 platform, which was what this unit was originally commissioned for. The happy coincidence is that it will work for the 2.5L platform as well. The biggest benefits are reduced draw on the battery & electrical system (a Very Good Thing for most of our aging cars) and better heat tolerance.

Mikes3.0cabturb, shipping down under is no problem, I shipped two down there last go around. These fit nicely in USPS flat rate boxes.
ritzblitz, re: your question about the size of the starter, the very early (pre-85???) 2.5L cars had the same sized starter as the early 2.0L 924 platform. Those units have a housing that is about 1/3rd larger in diameter than the later style 924S/944/951 starters. I don't know when those first came on the market, but PET seems to indicate sometime around '86. In any event, it is a non-issue because the two Bosch-style starters are completely interchangeable on all platforms, as far as I can tell, with the possible exception of the 951 due to its exhaust arrangement. Regardless, the IMI starter is even smaller, and is fully indexable so that you can get the arrangement oriented to your liking. If you look at the pix posted in the original group buy post, you will see that there is a tremendous amount of add'l room in the exhaust downpipe vicinity when using the IMI starter.
billthe3, re: successful installation, hopefully you've had a chance to see the video that 75ohm posted...
mehall, pricing will be the same as first time around. However, the shipping may be just a bit more this time around...I ended up paying for the bulk shipment to MI pretty much out of pocket on the last go around As noted above, these units fit nicely in USPS flat rate boxes, so shipping costs will be based on the bulk shipment to MI divided by the number of total participants, plus the USPS flat rate fee.
- billthe3: tentative for one piece
- GuyKeefer: confirmed for one piece
- msailer: tentative for two pieces
- sj340: confirmed for one piece
- MikeV: confirmed for one piece
- Portly: tentative for one piece
- Buckaroo Banzi: confirmed for one piece
- choinga: confirmed for one piece
- Mikes3.0cabturbo: confirmed for one piece
- krazykarl: tentative for one piece
- ninefiftyone: confirmed for one piece

ideola - How long are you keeping this G.B. open? (Perhaps you've already set a cutoff date, and I just failed to find it. If so, sorry for skimming.)
Also, go ahead and change my status to "confirmed".

I haven't set a closing date on this group buy as of yet. What do you guys want to do? We can try to wait until we have 20 for the best price possible, or we can set an arbitrary date. It doesn't matter to me, as I already got my starter in the first round, so I'm willing to go with the consensus.

I might be interested, but I am still concerned about what a "vented solenoid" is - that text appeared in the original group buy thread. Does anyone have detailed pictures of the solenoid from a few angles? I would think that a solenoid that might allow dust/dirt/oil to get inside would be a no-go for our cars, because of where the starter is mounted.
