Daily Bump. Still time to get in on this. I'm planning to close things down Monday 31 Aug at close of business EST. If our current commits all come through with payments, we still have a chance of hitting the 20 unit discount level, which will result in a $5 refund to everyone...

That is a good question. If you happen to have a 968 core lying around, I'd love to have you ship it to me so we can find out. Photos of the starter orientation would be helpful to. I suspect that it will work, but I don't have a 968 available to me to verify. Would be happy to facilitate if I can. PM if you're interested.

Today is the cutoff. I need all payments in by 5 PM EST, otherwise, you'll need to purchase individually or wait until the next group buy...

How long did it take before people started getting their starters from the last GP? I don't recall hearing much feedback about what people thought of them.

IMI shipped most of the starters yesterday, and the remaining 6 are going out today. Due to the holiday, I probably won't be able to get these in the mail until next week, but if all goes according to plan, ConUS participants could see their starters by end of next week, Int'l participants the week after.

Got mine fast, installed the next day... world of difference in my opinion.

All the starters are assembled and in transit from IMI (in Cali) to me (in MI). UPS tracking sites says they should all arrive next week after the holiday on Tue or Wed.

I will be coordinating shipping via the paypal invoices I sent out. IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE VERIFY that your shipping address on your paypal account is current and up to date. If it's not, please update it before next week, or otherwise, you will need to contact me via PM or email with your correct shipping address.

Mine came fast (2 days maybe) and works great. The install is pretty easy... just have to switch to the spade connector on the small wire, and I had to reindex the starter housing by one notch. But it was cake, and works perfectly.

Quick update:

The starters have all arrived, along with the USPS packaging. Tonight I got everybody's starters packaged and labeled. If PayPal is working as it's supposed to, you should all be getting your PayPal tracking numbers via email (be sure to check your Spam filters, as sometimes those auto-paypal notifications can be targeted). If you don't get your tracking number from PayPal by 9 PM tomorrow night, please send me an email or PM and I'll forward it to you manually.

I have a crazy day stacked up at work tomorrow, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to the Post Office before they close. When processing the labels, I noted the shipment date as Sat 12 Sep 2009, but hopefully, I can get everything to the P.O. tomorrow afternoon.

One more note on USPS tracking: it usually takes them 24-48 hours from the time of pickup before the tracking numbers even show up in their system. For most of you, the packages will probably arrive before you can even track them. FWIW, USPS says 2-3 day service for domestic destinations, and 6-10 days for those of you outside of the US.

I would love to hear more testimonials once you guys get your starters and install them. Please feel free to post your results and impressions here!

I'll update the status tomorrow evening.
