It's taken a few years, but I've decided my '84 n/a is not fast enough for me. So I've come to a fork in the road. Should I dump money into the car I already own, or sell it and buy a 951 in my price range? Opinions? Anyone?

 

The 951 will be better because it already has suspension and brake upgrades to go with the extra power plus after you sell your n/a it will take less cash out of your pocket.

If you have already upgraded the suspension and brakes (and the rest of the car is in great shape), then I say go for it and get the SC.

If your car is "tired" and basically bone stock........then I would agree with the masses here that say "sell it and buy a 951" (as pink floyds "The Wall" is playing in the background). Damn I hate myself............

951 is going to offer a whole host of advanatages over a supercharged 944.

Think of it this way, you just got bored of your 44, and yes a supercharger or a 951 will keep you happy for a little while, but then what happens when you want more power. With the supercharger you are stuck, with the 951 you have a world of potential in front of you.

Also, as earlier stated, the upgraded brakes and suspension of a 951 make it a better canidate to use the power.

But do what you like.....

The more I think about it, the more a 951 makes sense. It's not just the power, it's everything that would have to go with it. In the end, I'd spend more to upgrade what I have to try and match performance with a 951.
