Ok, this is going to be a long shot, but..
Anybody know how one is supposed to attach this? I'm going for a trip to Lappland and it'd be good to get the skis along (though not entirely necessary, I can do after-ski even without actually skiing )
So far I've tried the front rack and it fits very nice, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tighten it somehow. It seems to stay on pretty well if I just move it right up to the windshield... and the back one looks quite obvious, I'll just have to fabricate some sort of padding to keep my roof paint safe (the front ones have rubber pads, maybe there once was something for the rears as well...)
I'll try to get some pictures of this when I'm done
ps - huge thanks to Olli for borrowing this set - I would have called you to ask about the fitment but I think you're already asleep

I had a Thule rack on my car for awhile. You need to get the system that doesn't require a rain gutter and that has relatively sharpened angles on the piece that holds to the body. I custom ordered them through Thule. These brackets are a tight fit and compress the rubber molding on the door frame when closed but does work fine. I carried windsurf gear for 100 miles without a problem.

I have only used Thule racks, mostly on my mom's previous Jetta (mk2) and it withstood some beating quite handily. There's nothing quite like throwing 4 bikes up there... unfortunately I have not had experience with any of the Thule systems for Porsches. Maybe I should check that out...

Rack i borrowed to Sami is a model Porsche sold in the 80's to 944 models.
Unfortunately i have only test mounted it once about five years ago, so i just don't remember if there was any special procedure to fasten it.
