Angry Idle control valve

I want to test the idle control valve. Is their a procedure for this test. I think it is staying open all the time, hot or cold

You can pinch off the hose that leads from the idle-stabilzer valve to the intake-manifold. If your idle drops, then the valve is open. Only do this if you have new hoses that are flexible. Otherwise, disconnect the hose and plug it and the port on the manifold.
