Post Losing Power Steering Fluid

I noticed last week that I am slowly losing power steering fluid. Right now I don't feel like taking the car to a shop, and I don't feel like spending much time trying to fix it myself right now--the weather here in Maryland is lousy and I don't have a garage.

Any problems with just letting this go for a while and topping off with new fluid?

hmm, the only real problemi could think of to start with would be the atf eating your rubber components under there wherever the leak is. i had a rack leak and just refilled like that in my 84. eventually the seals just went and i now have a manual rack so you can refill for awhile but eventually you'll have to find the problem and fix it somehow. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

If you dont have fluid in your rack boots .... it may be as simple as giving the hose clamp a twist on the hose attached to the holding tank. If your rack boots do have fluid in them, then its time for a reseal when the weather gets better.
