I think I tensioned my belts too tight?
Just got done with my retension job... started the car and everything was fine, but it sounds REALLY high pitched when I rev it?
Do I need to start all over now?

the balance belt is supposed to be looser than you think it should be..
the whine shouldnt actually be THAT loud, noticeable yes, whiny yes, but not obnoxiously loud.
tension the belt to the point where you can grab it by its longest span and twist the belt about 180* (no more!) with your thumb and forefinger. that is about how tight it should be, maybe a miniscule bit tighter.
an overtensioned balance belt can cause problems, ask me how i know

It's a retension after like 1500k or so.. I let it go a little longer than I should have but that shouldn't have much bearing on the current issue.
I used the arnnworx tool... not sure where I went wrong, but I guess I'll just have to start again and take it all back apart. I was just kind of hoping I was being paranoid but it is definitely WAY higher pitched than before the job.
ps. the covers are on.
