Default need fuel pump

Hey guys,

wondering if you guys know any good sites for fuel pumps? I purchased mine off ebay...and it def does not work. So i had to throw my starion pump back in there.

I was kind of scared at first because it was first actual start attempt after removing all the wiring for everything.

My fans are not kicking on so im going to go get some of those low-profile flex-lite fans here in a little bit and get those mounted and wired to a switch

I just bought one from NAPA, believe it or not. It is $160 plus $10 shipping charge, warranted at a store that is less than a mile from me. They have to special order it, but if you look it up on their site, it emphasizes in no uncertain terms that it is exactly the OEM pump. It just isn't painted green. I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

There are cheaper ones on eBay, but not by much and I really, really suspect the warranty situation with those guys. I also could not find a green one on there.

Actually even a little cheaper than that for the pump, but it isn't clear that they sell the right adapters (at least to me). I'd like to try them next time, although I hope there isn't any "next time"...

BTW, do these pumps EVER fail when there's only a gallon or so in the tank?! Both of the ones I've done had 13 gallons of nasty old gas in them.

ya ill buy the napa one, and swap the rubber boot onto it...i havent looked at it...but im guessing thats how its done.

ill prob buy that tomorrow...then i have to hardwire my radiator fans to work...ill wire them to two separate switches...and if the fans still done work ill have to goto the parts store and see if they sell small enough fans to where i can have two.

Have you checked the fan switch on the radiator? It's a hell of a lot cheaper than new fans.

no i havent really even looked at too hard to be honest, i was going to get in depth with it 2morrow...maybe even tonight. What i did notice though....was there, this well...looks like wires going to a nut with a bolt attached to it...its at the bottom of the driverside headlight bay,..not sure if its some sort of collective ground for the fans or what...but i was going to check it all out before hardwiring the stock fans to see if they work, and if not get aftermarket ones.

autozone has 10" ones for like $50/each

I have a good used pump I'll sell you replaced with an 044, no issues when removed. If your gonna buy aftermarket fans they also sell the thermostatic controls easy hookup with a probe in the rad. set the knod to the temp u want the fans to turn on. no need to run a bunch of wires. One hotwire to the control and the one from the control to the fan relay is built in plus they're only 15. Ise them on my drag cars to turn the fan and electric waterpump on at a given temp.
