Painting Calipers on '89 951... Please Post Pictures of Your Painted Calipers
I'm looking at painting my calipers on my recently purchased '89 951. My exterior paint is GR so I want to paint the calipers red also. I have C-2 rims (show the calipers nicely). The calipers are in good shape (paint wise) and I have read previous posts about powder coating which seams the way to go (quality/longjevity wise). Has anybody tried to paint over the word "PORSCHE" on the caliper in white (like the big red calipers)? I've seen how people have filed the paint off with a file over the "PORSCHE". I thought (if it would look good) to paint it over with white paint?
Please post pics of your calipers and how you did it and wether or not you have trouble with peeling or brake dust sticking!!
Thanks for your help!!

There is some place online (can;t recall where exactly) that sells heat resistant vinyl stickers of the "Porsche" logo - specifically for pasting on calipers so they look factory. Anyone have this link?
Oh, and this PCA group sells a $6 stencil kit that accomplishes the same goal:

Now you've done it! I will do my calipers in Black Meatal flake and Ruby Red powder coat next week. I have been meaning to do it for a while, so I'll take a break on the interior and do a step by step for anyone interested.
Stay tuned! Perhaps Tuesday.

If you have a red car, then I would recommend yellow calipers. Unless the red of the calipers matches the red of the car, I don't think the red with different red combination would be that appealing. Just my opinion.
I used the paint-on stuff. I think I bought it from Tweeks. It has been on for about a year, and it has held up very well. Whenever I have the wheels off I do a good cleaning. They stay pretty bright.
