I need new tires for my 944 that has 15 inch fuchs. It currently runs 215/60/15 on all four corners. I can probably get some 205/50/15 and 245/50/15 tires cheap so will they fit? If not, I want to get some Yokos but the ones I want only come ina 225/60/15 or a 215/55/15 so can I run one of those without rubbing? Any help will be greatly apprciated!! Thanks in advance.

I ran into the same problem with 15" tires. There aren't many performance tires to choose from. I finally decided to go with Toyo FZ4's in 225/50VR15. I can get them locally for $87.00 per tire, mounted and balanced. If you want a really amazing tire check out Bridgestone Pole Position S-03's at TireRack for $119.00 each. I almost went for those but I figured they were overkill for normal street use.

That size will also allow you to lower the car and not have to worry too much about fender rubbing issues. They also look better on a lowered car than the original sizes, which makes the car look 'slammed'.

My 85.5 has 7&8x15 Fuchs, and I've just put 215 and 225/60 Yokohamas on. No problem at all, although the rear wheel wells are FULL. I should think the 55's would be even less likely to rub.

225/60-15 is too tall. So is 245/50-15.

Actually the 245/50-15 is the proper diameter (approx. 25") for our cars. Unfortunately, it's a little too wide for a 7" rim and tire selections are very limited. The only other car I know of that used that size was a mid-'80s Firebird.

I put 225 /50/15 yok avs intermediat on mine .no rubbing problems but Im still wearing them in So far I didnt like the sloppiness ,but it seems to be getting beter with 3k on them.
I would probably put what I had on them before Michlen piolit 215/60 and go with the v rated ones not h rated. Those tiers wore great (400 rating).were great in the rain ,never squealed, great grip,an very responsive, what more could you ask for!!
Maybe I should sell mine and get Michlens again..... <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
