Default I need a cheap late transaxle in FL

I don't know if my R&P have lost teeth or my clutch center is blown out or what but since my recent autocross I have terrible drivetrain lash. I need a cheap (or loaner) transmission to put in there. If it turns out that it's my transmission causing the problem then I will need the tranny until I can fix mine.

I'm sure there is a less time consuming diagnostic approach to figuring out the problem than swapping the whole transaxle. Try jacking the rear of the car up and spinning one rear wheel back and forth quickly to listen for crunching noises. Try it in gear and in neutral.

"Listen for crunching noises?" Lol it makes those sitting in a parking lot with the key out any time the wind blows. How many miles you got on your cars?

The current transaxle is the car's third installation. Big fat race tires and hard autocross starts with an LSD have put a hurting on some transaxles. So having a spare to put in is good because even if the tranny isn't part of the problem yet, it will be soon.

Well in that case, I'll repeat... "I'm sure there is a less time consuming diagnostic approach to figuring out the problem than swapping the whole transaxle."

My n/a has 100k and on its 4th transaxle. And my 951 has over 200k.

Did this just happen at Whitehouse yesterday? Seems like you were running well in ES in spite of the 100* temps. You might check a few locals like Technical Dimensions or Broadfoot Autosports. Both in Jacksonville!!! Also there is a guy in Orange Park that might have one. His name is Byron. PM if you need his #.

I had a guy bring a 944 out to me once for a trans swap. Found it was just a broken CV cage, he had let the half-shaft down to do wheel bearings and just the weight of the axle shaft broke the cage. It made a hell of a racket but in the end the tow cost more than the fix. Fingers crossed...Bruce

Hey guys...no internet for a few days but I actually just got back from technical dimensions! Seth also couldn't decide if it was clutch center, R&P lash or both but he was leaning towards R&P lash. Think I might drop it off Friday for him to put it up on a lift and inspect it some more.

Yeah just swapping out the tranny doesn't seem very efficient until you consider that it frees me up to work on the tranny for as long as I want. And now I have access to a lift...

And yes it started acting up after I blasted the hell out of the car on the 4th run at whitehouse. Took off .7 seconds but I ran over like the very first cone doh. Yeah I couldn't quite catch larry but I will get him next time now that I remember what tire pressures to run. I was running way too high of pressures all day.

Travis I need to call you anyways I gotta order a bunch of random stuff. How far am I from you now? I hate paying shipping!
