I do, Darrell Frett installed it (was his car!), and I don't like the fact that I notify all the neighbors know when I'm home.

dont believe ive met the guy. what system is it, catback or custom?

if its not too loud i would be open for an even trade. its a stock system that is structurally great with the exception of the tip. its split at the seam some...

my closest neighbor owns a harley

It sounds like a ricer, to be honest. Pretty nasty. He's the president of the Central Iowa region of PCA. Lives in Riverside, near Iowa City.

I'm not sure what the heck it is, I have no documentation on it, unfortunately. Pretty sure it's not new, and he only used it for AX, so he didn't care that it was loud. It's just irritating on a DD.

are we talking about an extremely clean black 944? if so, congratulations on a beautiful car.

my cars not a dd by any stretch but im not looking for "ricer" sound. if i get a catback i can work with you on my system.

where are you located? if i hate the sound, it will at least let me know what not to buy.

Cedar Rapids, so working together would be difficult to say the least! I don't have a video camera, so recording the sound will also be difficult. It is a pretty clean 944, has some rust, has some dings, but overall pretty clean. Brown and grey-beige interior, I'm changing all the brown to black.

It doesn't sound quite like a Honda with a cone air filter and a 4 inch muffler, but it's probably 3 inches at the tip, 2 inches before that and after muffler. I'm really not even sure what the different components of an exhaust system are, so I have no idea what I'm doing.

must be a different car. i thought i saw him in a black 951.

im in an auto group (www.projektgerman.com) that has a strong cedar rapids group so im not above getting over there some weekend.

if you ever need any help let me know. ive done quite a few of the common repairs. oil separator, throttle body rebuild, afm repair, clutch change, and so on...

I'll get a clip of my new custom 2.5 setup tomorrow. only cost a total of $75 and 2 12 packs of pepsi. at first I wasnt too sure, bec 4cyls and exhausts never really sound right, but this setup sounds similar to my old 12v VR6 not too bad for the $$ and so far doesnt drone while cruising (only on cold start after sitting all night) after the exhaust gets up to temp, its very deep, burbley, and just enough sound at hwy speed to let you know your in a sports car but not intrusive

I have the full stock exhaust from my car, just sitting around. Good condition, but I suspect the cat is blown out.

Darrell has a white 951 now, btw. It's at European Motors here in CR, I think. He's got a dark blue 964 as well, does DE teaching some, from what I've heard.
