You can find the option codes here...
<a href="http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/3322/spec.htm#p1984" target="_blank">Porsche Option Codes</a>
Lots of info and lots of pop up ads

The VIN code doesn't contain the codes per se. Look under the carpet in the trunk area. The codes are on a sticker on the rear panel (where the license plates are - but on the inside).

Question

No go on the sticker in the rear.. maybe the PO removed it for some strange reason. I also do not have the copy in the maintenance log book. Can I ask Porsche for this info.?? has anyone done this before?

Thanks

My car has a copy of the sticker on the inside front cover of the owner's manual. If your stickers are missing, a cardex is available from PCNA, but it'll run you $40. IIRC they claim 6 weeks to get it to you, but I've been waiting that long already. Hopefully in the next few days.
