Default Engine Removal Question

So, I have the engine from my '84 NA on the ground, but I don't have the car high enough to move it out from under it. I've heard of people attaching the engine hoist to the front end of the car to lift it up then scoot the engine out of the way. What's a safe place to attach the hoist to lift the front end?

can you not jack it up some more? u need only 21 inches of ground clearance measuring from the bottom radiator support. i know i removed my radiator and fans too when i dropped the engine.

i don't think there's any good hoist point with a cherry picker. if you had a chain hoist in your ceiling, then u could maybe do something with strut towers

If you have the two toe eyes that are under the car bolted to the frame, you can do what I did.
I took a choker and wrapped it around those eyes so that it went across the engine bay, then I stuck a cherry picker in the middle of that.
Pulled it right up with no problems.

Lol...
Not like that. Mine has tow eyes that are one either side down near the Xmember.

lay down a piece of plywood and carefully tip the engine on its side.

You can also remove the wheel and strut, and slide it out the wheel well. If you try to get it higher, be sure the rear is jacked up too, otherwise you have to raise the front much higher than needed.

My car doesn't have the tow hooks so I figured out how to jack it up higher. Got it out with the rear on ramps and the front at 20.4"

Thanks!
