Default WTB: 944S2 cylinder head

I am looking for a S2 cylinder head, preferably just the core but I would
also be willing to look at a fully built head.

Found one =)

There was a guy over on pelican desperate to sell his head, $200 bucks I believe.

How much for a 2 V 944 head? Don't care condition as long as rebuildable?

Are you talking about this thread?

He's selling a regular S head, are they even interchangeable? Not sure what good a 2v head would do me.

Yes that is the thread, not sure about interchangability. Maybe check on PET.

It's not interchangeable as the bore is different according to the info I've found.

Is there any reason S2 cylinder heads would not be interchangeable? When I called partsheaven they asked me for the id number of my cylinder head like I needed a specific one to match.

AFAIK, all 944S2 heads are the same. As stated above - the 944S head won't work.

I've heard that the 968 head can be made to work - but it may not be worth the time, effort and $$, from what I understand.

I've found multiple sources for a head, just waiting on the local shop to call me back with a price for the one they have. Then I'll make a decision.

not quite that fast. It needs to be reassembled first, and I still have a lot of parts to order. I'd like to have it ready by July 19th for an autocross event.
