Just bought this 968 Cab for my wife. It's a 1992 MY, official color is Cassis Red Metallic. I've seen this paint job on 911s and a 928 before, but never on a 968. Does anyone know how to find out how many left the factory in this color?

 

I remember seeing a 968 in purple at the U of W. The thing had gold wheels and as a matter of fact it had gold plated everything.

 

didn't Eddie Murphy have one in a movie, a cab, too?

ETA: confirmed, Beverly Hills Cop 3. I remember a scene at the end where he is driving to an amusement park.

 

Check with Jeff in the 968 forum. He has a listing of all the cabs. I think there are less than 10 Cassis Reds.

Thanks guys. This car had a few desirable options besides the interesting paint as well. Full leather interior, full power sport seats, LSD.

On a sad note, this is our only Porsche while I rebuild the engine on my 951 after an engine fire. Lindsey Racing Fuel Rail owners beware...

Not to thread-jack, but, is it just me or do the 968s look paunchier than the 944s?

Ditto on the Jeff suggestion-he'll be able to tell you everything about each Cassis car in the country. He did that for me with speed yellow cabs-down to what option each car had.
