I'm paying around €0.90 per liter. You obviously never buy fuel at the German gas stations...

Cool

So, it's between € 88.8 - €100 / tank !

and not to mention what it cost to buy a 951 here! Prices are between €15.000 - €20.000 !

You get everything for free !

Most people live in suburbs like you americans, so we need to have transportation to go to work.
If i choose to go to work with train i have 2 minutes walk to railway station from my home. Then i pick up a subway from Helsinki main railwaystation and after that five minutes walk to work.Total time app. 25 minutes. It will take same amount of time with my own car (which i use to go to work).
What comes to salaries in europe, i suppose it's quite close what you get.In the other hand your taxes are much lower! We just don't have that much money to spend as you have!

what comes to traveling, you should travel outside NA! There is also life outside the States.
I have lived & traveled in the States and i enjoyed it, but i have also enjoyed traveling in almost 50 different countries i have visited

$2 isnt really that bad though. At least we arent in Europe.....

I mean, I would seriously take $2 for the rest of our driving lives. I have a bad feeling one of these days it will get much higher and we will wish for the $2 or less a gallon

The octane rating of the fuel is simply an indication of resistance to detonation.

Point taken, that's one of those things that I hadn't thought of "that" way.

I think that I'll start using the good stuff now, the difference here between 87 and 93 is .16, I don't think that will torment my miserly soul too much.

Thanks

Michael,

Isn't the gas on base still rationed however? I remember when I was in Germany I had a "coupon book" that only allowed me so many gallons of gas per month. I had a VW GTI at the time so it didn't matter much but imagine the guys who bring their Excursions to Germany with them?

I find the car runs "smoother" with the Octane Boost.

I wanna do the "toulane" (sp?) thing, but am afraid!!!
