Question 944 vs. 951??

What constitues the difference between a 944 and a 951? This may be a dumb question, but I have been reading a lot of posts here, and have seen plenty of people talk about their 951's, and I would like to know what exactly is a 951??

A 951 is a turbo charged 944. The 951 is Porsche's internal designation for the 944 Turbo.

While there are no dumb questions, it appears jiffypop has proven that there are dumb answers!

951 is the area code that I grew up in? Thou it was a joke.... I figured that someone with that much into a 944 would know what a 944 was? And the last thing I am going to do is BITCH about someone on the internet insulting my comment. So Garron, sorry if you saw this as an insult.

And icat, quick answer Jeopardyboy? Now that we know you are an expert can you help me with my Flex Capacitor? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

It appears your quick with the wit, but a bit thin skinned on the comeback. My comment was "tounge-in-check" as well. IIRC a Flex Capacitor can only be found on a modified Deloreon.

Woops, screwed up. Allow me to rephase:

What is the device that fails when attempting time travel in a Deloreon?

It's all in fun Jiffypop - no disrespect was intended.

Thanx guys. I figured it may be something as simple as that....hence the reason I figured it would be a dumb question. Oh, and by the way...I didn't take it as an insult. I had actually never even heard of a "951" until I became a member of this list, and I know quite a few 944T owners (or 951 owners, whichever you prefer). Anywho...thanx again for the info.....

Not to get drawn into this but...for the record it is a Flux Capacitor, not a Flex capicitor. Ok, now continue the flame war, <img src="graemlins/icon107.gif" border="0" alt="[icon107]" />

Cool beans man, cool beans.

Small world it is jiffypop. I drive by your old school most days. And I-10 everyday!

I be glad when they widden that dang thing. Going to 12 lannes BOTH ways! Can you beleive it?

Just for the record, icat is short for IntraCat Systems, my computer firm. But I kinda like the reference to I-10, if ya don't mind I think I'll use it as well! <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

Flex Flux Fuch - just a bunch of four letter words! Good catch FormulaOne10.

Ya have fun, I gotta go to <img src="graemlins/sleep.gif" border="0" alt="[sleep]" />

my a-arms say 951 on them, but I have a 1986 944na.

The picture above show different A-arms and other suspension parts.

What does the 951 have if its different?

I think the back to the future movies (1 and 2 anyways...didn't care for 3 as much) were the finest adventure movies ever made. It is a flux capacitor, not flex. My band's name is 88 MPH if you would believe that. If somebody says the first line to either of the first 2 movies, I can sit there for 2 hours and recite the entire script. God, I need a new hobby. Anybody want to play back to the future trivia? I'll start the first questions:

In the first movie, what does the license plate say on the delorean?
In the first movie, what was the name of the mall who's parking lot the delorean was sent back through time on, before and after going to the past, and why did the name change?
What was the name of the singer of the band who played at the enchantment under the sea dance?
Who did the singer call during "Johnny B Good"?

First person to answer all 4 of those questions right gets a sticker.
