Default 944/968 upper strut mounts

I have been looking to get new OEM upper strut mounts for my 968, but the retail price is astronomical. I do wish to keep it stock so aftermarket camber plates is out of the question at least for now.

Does anyone have a tip on how to get one of these at a overcoming price? A dealer I have not found yet perhaps. If anyone have one for sale I'd buy it (must be the new type).

Edit: Must be of the new style which came in 93 or 94 and are a replacement part for all late 944 and 968. Recognizeable by the extra bulk of metal on top.

I know you mentioned keeping things stock but if cost is the reason for that then KLA offers a reasonably priced upper strut mount. I don't have any experince with these but others here may...http://www.klaindustries.net/

Not if it is the stock mounts that came with the car from the factory. If they have been replaced after say 1993 or 94 then it should be the new type. The common ones are flat on top, the new type have an semi cricular "lump" of extra metal on top.

I have tried the KLA's on anonther (more sportier) 944 and they work great. They lack however the rubber bushings and are more suitable towards race-aplications and sporty street use. This 968 is remaining stock and therefor I am lokking for the OEM's for now.

Just throwing this out there for comment, but how about the KLA's mounted to the body with a 1/4in rubber gasket. Sample Rubber Gasket
