That's the 'chassis brace'-I'd be a mite concerned if they didn't want to call it a rollover bar for liability reasons . . .

Took me a bit to find it, but here is why you need a stout, well designed rollover bar-as the factory, reinforced windshied ain't up to the job.

Fortunately, the driver (Steve) walked away unscathed. And his fiancee (now wife) would have been in the passenger side if she came along for the drive.

From what I remember at the time he wasn't even going very fast, I'm sure that helped as well.

True. The Safety Devices unit is marketed as a roll bar and does look like it would be well suited to rollover protection. The one I saw was installed in a coupe, but I imagine it would fit in the cabrio as well

I haven't seen the chassis brace in person, so I can't really comment, but it was the only thing I knew of specifically for the cabrios

I have both Redline rollbar and the cab 'chassis brace'. Both of these products are designed to use existing bolt holes for the seatbelts -- hence the degree of protection is compromised.

Something like the Safety Devices is "bolt-on" but requires that you drill holes in the floor pan -- the benefit is greater protection if you roll. Interior dimension of a cab is slightly different -- so fit could be an issue.

Thanks Joe! I am moving on from the S2 Cab as the owner won't move on his high price. I am now looking for a coupe.
