Default Pick & Pull 924/931 parts cars

I just hit up the Fairfield Pick and Pull and there was a 924 and a 931 in the yard.

The 924: mostly complete, except for the tinted glass and script doors I took off of it. I didn't bother with the hatch, but it is intact and tinted as well.

The 931: Broken hatch, did manage to get a sunroof bag from it. Seems mostly there as well except for the turbo nose grill inserts. Kinda bummed about that.

In the past there has been a 924S and a few 944's, early and late. Don't know what it is about this pick and pull, but these Porsches seems to end up in there more than you'd think.

I find a 944 in the san jose pick n pulls occasionally. There's sometimes a 924. On the rare occasion I go to the newark yard, it's 50/50 whether I find a 924/944. I guess they usually end up in your fairfield yard!

Lucky SOB - script door panels!!!

I believe the 931 had brown script doors, and I'm heading back tomorrow to see if I can get a brake booster valve that just broke on my car....maybe I should get them while I am there

So did the 931 have script doors? If you didn't take them, I think I would actually drive all the way up there for those. They're not all that valuable I guess, but hard to find.

I'll be in the SJ yards tomorrow and I might as well post up what I find.

This is the same yard where we found a 944 with an option code "220" on the sticker -- but we couldn't verify the condition of the tranny (spun the wheel, nothing happened).

The 931 does have brown script doors, no holes for speakers, and not in mint condition by any measure.

I hit up the Oakland PNP and there was a 944 S2 with significant fire damage in the engine compartment.

The Richmond one has a 924 in their yard. I pulled off a middle "PORSCHE" rear reflector and a cargo cover from that one.

I just broke my brake booster check valve, anyone have a spare?

I got a nice set of sport seats from a 944 from the junk yard today. Crazy Ray's in Mt. Airy MD has an '87 in the yard with most of the mechanicals intact. Too bad all 4 of the fuchs were cracked. The black carpet and interior were mostly still there too for those looking for the hard to find and brittle trim pieces.

I went to both SJ pick n pulls and the northern one had no Porsches. The southern one had a VW beetle - does that count? Waste of a day! Oh well.

My dad calls me in the morning... he says he's at the richmond pick n pull. After I asked why he would hit the junkyards without me, I told him to look for Porsches, like a 924, and he said he saw not a one? I guess he just didn't know where to look.
