FM signal booster
I was wondering if anybody has any experience with a certain brand that actually works? My car needs some serious help I have the factory booster hooked up for the window antenna and I tried playing with the fuba antenna I got from Rennbay without drilling a hole for it yet. I checked Cruthfield and they have one but I wonder how well it actually works http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-FvDJtMq3XjU/ProdGroup.asp?c=2&s=0&cc=01&g=732

There are many different applications you can use, i have checked out alot of them. my reception is such, that when i put the radio on tune, and not scan, i can pick up almost all of my local stations, with little or no static, so my idea is to go with one out of the JC Whitney catalog, it looks like it plugs into the antenna jack, and is fairly small, not sure if it works quite as well as some of the extreamly large boosters, but i want somthign small.....thats my 2 cents

My original booster shows signs that it does work a little. When I don't have it connected I just hear static on some stations then when I wire it in I can hear the station but with to much static also.

My stereo has a signal strength indicator (0 - 10 bars). I installed the antenna booster from Crutchfield and noticed a consitent 20+% signal increase. Then last month when I pulled my stereo out to re-wire parts of it, I noticed that the wire to power the factory booster was not connected... so I might be ditching the aftermarket one if the factory one works.
The booster is under the dash on the passenger side. The power lead for it is in the radio area. I thing there is an LED on the booster to indicate when its turned on, but I may be wrong on that.

I have seen an Eclipse unit that could not turn on three amps. I don't know what that unit draws it might not be a concerne for most people.
