350lb springs in the front...what to expect
#4
Depends on the shock / valving. I dont think so, it will be firmer though.
My daily driver has 500/600# springs and with the rebound set to soft it rides great...
edit: if you are just installing those up front you will need something more in the rear.

Sam, is the 951 your DD or are you talking about a different car? I would think 500# would be really stiff for a daily driven 944. If you talking about the bmw, I could see that.

I wouldnt think it would be so bad , as you all ready have the big bars .... but i would say .... PUSH ....... You have introuduced alot of understeer into the car . New torsions will be on your list soon.

My plan is to fit the KW Variant 3 coil overs. They are 340 front and 285 rear (to be used with Tbars). From all accounts these are brilliant shocks as they incorporate valving that takes out the rough ride over uneven surfaces yet provide great control on the track. Full rebound and compression damping adjustment are included. Not cheap - but I think worth it.
There's probably a few people in Rennlist that have these that could extoll their virtues.

I would never call 350# "soft" but they should be tolerable. I have 450# and Bilstein Escort Cups and it's definitely more at home on track than the street. It also depends on the roads around you. If they're relatively smooth, you won't even notice a difference.
Like others said, now that the front is stiffer, you're gonna want to balance it with a stiffer rear.
