It's all rice and you guys need to lighten up.

Me, I'm having fun egging all of you on... All I can say is that mine didn't come with a lighted frame (just four holes that need to be bondo'd), so I guess we're bickering over rice crumbs!

Although gross assumption on the yellow numbers (have you seen mine? um, they're white and they're VDO). I do know that the panel lighting set-up was a source of a lot of electrical problems on my 924. Thank god/allah/jah rastafari that the 944 didn't have that junque. but whatever, i thumb my nose, who cares.

Deni:
IIRC, the PORSCHE emblem you have infront of the 924S badge on the rear of the car wasn't stock, at least not in the USA.
And if that car just to the right of your 924S is your 944, then the turbo valence ALSO wasn't stock.
And the rear spoiler on your 924S looks bigger than the stock spoiler. Could that also be a transplant from a 944?

According to your definition of rice, anything that wasn't originally part of the car is considered to be rice.

According to my definition of rice, I'd say your rear turbo valence is truly rice.

Hmmm, I smell rice: now there's the kettle calling the pot black! Buahahaha!

Again, to each his own.

PEACE,
-Z.

Oh, okay I confess! I drew it on with a pencil- no, a crayon! But sometimes after it rains I have to draw it back on, cuz it comes off due to acid rain. I'm getting pretty good at drawing "Porsche" now.. ! This is so much fun today, thanks for entertaining me (and it was free too)!

My sig says what? 1977! (um, that's A.D.!) This means that my Audi, no, um Porsche badge came from Porsche, but you wouldn't know because you don't own one. Here's a 1979 "sebring" model to feast your eyes on.. Doh, no wing either!

<img src="http://www.924.org/models/modelpics/Sebring/seb_rear.jpg" alt=" - " />

Btw: I don't have a 924 S. S cars were only made from 1986-1988. I never said nor implied that the car next to mine was MY car! So much fun! Guess what? It REALLY is a Turbo! It's an 86 951 from outta nowhere (if you really really really really wanted to know....!) maybe I should put a Type R sticker on my reflector plate just to make sure that it can certifiably REALLY be rice. Nah.

Yup, it's a Porsche part that actually has a part number and co-incidentally came on the <a href="http://freespace.virgin.net/david.dbracing/924gtpicture16.htm" target="_blank">Karrera GeeTee "Type Argh"</a>. (This also means that 928 S4 brakes on 951 are rice?) Huh? The last time I checked, the reflector was never an option. When I purchased the car from the PO, it already had the bad-fitting hatch. I can't blame him for that one, the previous one was probably damaged/broken. File it under "Stupid PO Tricks"- just like the cheap reflector, general grounding issues, and a bad relay board (half-melted), plus half-assed alarm installation that I had to throw out. Btw: I have had this car for only two months. i not yet begun all the dirty work.

Of course, we are not talking about 924/944 not 911 cars. This is the 944 forum, right?

My bad: I saw your siggy, don't know why I called it a 924S. Maybe it was the 944 spoiler!

But the items you mention were never options on your car, just like a Type-R sticker was never an option on a US-spec Civic! One can argue that the Porsche panel for the 944 is designed after the Porsche panel found on the 911's, but see below for further developments...
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva"><strong>Huh? Um, not true: according to my car's PO, the rear panel on my car was a PORSCHE dealer installed option. Hmm, that may indicate that it is OEM!
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva"><strong>When I purchased the car from the PO, it already had the bad-fitting hatch. Ok, so I won't blame you for the PO's "mistakes." My PO put the panel on my car, so you can't blame me for his mistakes either! HA!

And yes, this has been fun, but chill out man: you are WAY over-reacting to prove your point. IIRC, your point is that you HATE the rear panel. Point taken, we know your view, so now: MOVE ON!

Have a nice day,
-Z.

Who says this hasn't been fun? Rennlist rules.. All in good discussion! POs suck, especially those who are too lazy to properly care for them...

btw: Rich, I just signed your thing. Good luck.

I personally never liked the look of it- My dad had one on his old 924- without lights. His was a PO installed item.

Guys I don't think the panel was ever an option.

if you take it apart, and you look at the back, there is:

a: no part number

b: a company name and city name from california.

Personally, I don't care for but that's my taste. I can understand why some do like it.
