Default Sunroof repair question

My sunroof gears blew out a few weeks ago and last Saturday my new ones showed up (go pelican parts!) When putting them it was not starting/stopping in the right spots and was just acting strange.

Turns out, the "cam gear" in the back, which pushes all the microswitches, broke and my cable was no longer connected to that piece.

I can't find anywhere that sells this part or even a new motor for that matter. (Not that I want a new motor, I'm just concerned that I can't even find one). I'm hesitant to get another used one because 20 year old plastic isn't exactly strong.

Has anyone else busted this piece? What did you do to repair it? Should I just bite the bullet and machine one out of plate AL?

Thanks
-paul

That's all I got... might be able to get one from a car being parted, or order from a Dealer, I personally like the machined out of plate al myself...

lol, the 944online page that lists the parts shows the exploded diagram without the part I need.

I've also thought of a plan that could convert it into a linear design instead of replicating it 100%. All depends if I can get some time on the CNC or not.
