Smile Hershey Hotel Question

I'm looking forward to Hershey already! I live in NYC, but I like to make a whole weekend out of the trip. Two years ago I stayed at the Spinners Inn. A decent amount of Porsche people there. Last year I switched to the chocolate motel or something like that. Only 2 other Porsche guys there. Is there a hotel where everyone goes? Is there a place where everyone goes for beers the night before? Thanks!

I've been going to this swap meet since I moved to PA (3 years). I don't stay overnight as my drive is only 45 minutes. However, you may want to contact the club region thats responsible for setting up this event - the cental PA region. www.centralpaporsche.org I'm sure someone in the region has your answer.

I have gone for the past three years with my wife. We meet my parents ( also on this board) and some friends from PA ( also here..on the Boxster & 356 forums) at the Hershey Lodge...great place and not as expensive as the Hershey Hotel. There's always several Porsches in the parking lot....

see you there!

Stayed last year at the Marriott in South Harrisburg - real convenient with a decent restaurant and bar - lots of Porsches in the lot.

Can't go this year

Are there a lot of Rennlisters attending the Porsche swap meet in Hershey? Also is there a schedule of events anywhere?

Master John D. may be planning an event for Rennlisters. Two years ago they had stuff, then last year they didn't for a reason that I do not remember. I asked John about it not during the summer, and I believe he is going to try and plan something. So, keep your fingers crossed.

Maybe he will see this and clue us in...

i keep hershey as my deadline to have my "parts to be installed" box (err....room). i'll probably be commuting unless theres a get together involving adult beverage consumption . its to bad the stoudt's family brewery beer festival isnt that same weekend....only a half hour away, plenty of hotels, transportation, and an absolute blast.

Even though I am involved with the 968 guys, I don't stay at the hotel. I found a great B&B two minutes down the road, and rebooked it this year again. Great set up, and get this--a garage for the new cab.

Sorry, they have only 1 guest suite, and I've got it! I'd suggest anyone else to do a bed and breakfast search, there must be more in the area.

....John D and I just booked a room at the Hershey Hilton Garden Inn... If you mention you are with the Porsche Group its $79 a night. Their phone number is phone: 717-566-9292..

John and I haven't made any plans yet...other than where we are staying....

Any suggestions?

Chris (fty),

That'd be cool, my brother is probably going this time, depends on exam schedule.
Dude...the econo lodge may not have been all that nice (though it was clean...)...but it sure was cheap!

Jenn (and john), I think just setting up a Rennlist meeting point at the actual swap meet would be enough...anything else I'd say is above and beyond my expectations.
