Default 951 Starting Issues when Cold

When I start the car when its cold, it stumbles once the engine is ignited. The whole engine shakes and it almost feels as though it is not running on all cylinders (i do not know this).

At times the car will idle down and die. But, most of the time it starts but stumbles terribly.

Stepping on the gas while its attempting to start cold does not help the situation.

Once its strated, the car smoothes out and runs without error. I can stop the car and restart it with no problem as long as the engine remains warm.

Any thought? I have looked up on Clark's Garage.

Default Temp Sensor

One question.....

Can a bad temp sensor prevent the DME from producing spark on a '83 NA ?(assuming an '83 NA has a temp sensor)

Thanks

I don't think so. That should just make it run pig rich and/or make for rough cold idle.

Do you have any signs of a head gasket problem? Often, when they go, the plugs get wet as the pressurized coolant seeps in over night, which causes cold-start stumbles. Probably not your issue, but in case the more obvious things don't pan out...
