Post paintless dent removal

A softball sized dent on my driver's side door.

Are there any beams or structures behind it that would prevent me from pushing it out from the back? A suctiontype dent puller??

No paint damage at all.

You'll likey make it worse. Consider calling one of those paintless dent removal guys. My brother in law just had three fairly nasty dents massaged out of a car. Except for one where there was paint damage, you can't see or even feel a thing! Good luck.

I second the advice to let a pantless dent removal professional tackle it. The 944 has a plastic vent on the side of the door that can easily be removed without tools. Then the dent removal guy will use that rather large opening to access the backside of the door skin. No drilling of an access hole is required on these doors.

If you get the dent fixed soon after it happens, the dent is easier to remove. It may cost anywhere from $50 to $150 depending on exactly where you are (and the dent is).

The tool they use is a long steel rod with a spoon shaped end on one side to massage the dent out. An attachment is on the other end to secure the rod to the access hole for even greater leverage. Good luck.

John,

I had several dents removed from both quarter panels, front fenders and doors by a paintless dent removal guy (not Dentpro) using the exact same procedure as described by Flight_951. The work was awesome and you cannot tell that it was ever dented. My 951 is black and shows every imperfection, it looks much better than before and was worth the $170 or so. If you are in the Bay Area send me an email and I will give you the name of the guy's company. His prices are very competitive and he will come to you.

Or you could put one on the other side of your car to match.

You want to be a little careful and get a good sheet metal guy. Then the results can be pretty fantastic as long as the metal isn't creased or stretched.

I had an older German guy do mine. He started out life at a BMW plant fixing dents that happened on the assembly line. The job application was he got handed a flat piece of sheet metal and told to hammer out a door pannel. <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

Anyone had a minor dent removed from the roof? There is a shallow depression that the PO must have made when struggling with the sunroof. Didn't notice it when I inspected the car pre-purchase.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks
ROn
