Default WTB: Early Driver's Side Mirror

Still looking, PM or respond here if you know of a place to get one or have one to sell!

Black is preferable, but it can always be repainted.

Joel

Edit:

Forgot to mention that I'm also looking for a driver's side front bumper shock, early NA.

I also need some sound deadening, if anyone has any they are willing to part with.

How much will I need, and what works best?

I think I have a black housing... but no glass.

Might not have the motor/wiring, either...

Motor and mirror and such all work, I believe. It's just that the whole mirror spins and easily lifts off of the round main peg which holds it on. It won't sit still, and my mechanic told me that with what's broken, the whole mirror needs replacing. I'm sure I could gut the mirror and wiring and put them all into a new housing, assuming the peg inside that spins into the housing isn't broken.. Thoughts on that?

When I get home tonight I'll take a look... But I don't think your mechanic is describing it properly. If I recall, the motor part is bolted to the mirror housing... this part has a black plastic ring that holds the glass into place. The glass has a plastic part glued onto the back that has little tabs that the locking ring grabs onto. My guess is that one or some of these little tabs have broken (usually they break from someone not removing the glass properly...) so it's not being held securely.

But I'll see what I have and get back to you.

Wait what do you mean? It's not the glass that's loose, it's the actual mirror. It's as if the mirror spins on the ~1 in post which is attached to the door.
