I ran 225-50's all around on my early car. They have the added benefit of slightly loweing the final drive. The acceleration is just a bit better, but the speedo is also furher off (it's more optimistic; showing a higher speed that you are really going)

I have 225/60's all the way around on my car, and they fit fine. The only thing I don't like about them is they raise the gear ratio a little bit. With such little power the N/As have already, sometimes it struggles on the highway going up hills. It won't cruise at 100mph as easily lol.

I'm due for new tires, and I'm going back to the stock 215/60 size.

you cant use 225/60s on the early car if it is lowered, i tried it before and they would rub on the fenders on hard corners, which is why i went to the 50s

I dont know why you would want a tire with a truck sidewall anyway.

Go with stock diameter or smaller.

Good move. A little late, but I have 225/50/15s. The lower ratio actually made a difference at the track. A BIG difference due to the track layout. In TWO different turns, I was able to hold 4th gear where I used to downshift to 3rd. It makes life a lot easier.
