Default Do I need radiator cooling fan resistors?

On my 1987NA race car. Or can I just hook the wires together with the only consequence that the fans will run on high speed whenever they run?
TIA
Cheers

If you're talking about the 944, then yes you can run them w/o the resistor. I have mine hooked directly to the battery via a 30 amp switch (fused of course).

I've been running them that way for about 2 years with no adverse effects. I have two spare fan motors laying around just in case though.
