I’ve seen the pin stripes on quite a few 944’s so I’m wondering if it was from the factory or not. To be honest with you, when I first purchased the car I thought to myself these have to go but after a while I liked the nostalgic flavor it added to the vehicle. Also, thanks for all the comments.

My 83 had pins when I bought her - pins on these cars are definitely not factory. AFAIK, the only cars (of our series at least) Porsche made with pinstripes were a few of the different kinds of special edition 924s.

I removed mine years ago... someone had done a pretty crummy job putting them on there, so lifting one end carefully with a razor blade was enough to let me peel them off all the way around.

Nice car, BTW.

I love the 993, but as a lowly Public Defender (not a REAL lawyer as my clients are fond of saying <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ) I'll never be able to afford one. However, I think the look of the wheels makes the car appear 10 years newer. I couldn't afford the real McCoys!

4gasm: I'm an equal opportunity employer.

But you're not the first to make that comment about the picture.

I may be interested in about 3 to 4 months if the car I'm looking at now sells. Could you send me an email with the pics and info so I can save it in my (BUY) folder. Thanks

The deal is now worked out so it's ok to let everyone know. I didn't mean to cloud the issue with my earlier post; I was just keeping a confidence. I drove it and it's a wonderful car! I'm looking forward to many fun-filled days driving it!
