My 1986 944 Turbo track car won't start.
Well, it would start after two minutes of cranking - then stumble to life. Once it was running, you could start it right up - it ran smoothly, with a perfect idle. Walk away, come back in 10 minutes, fired right up. But wait 20 or 30 minutes, and same thing.
Recently, it stopped starting at all, just an occasional backfire. I think this happened after I changed the cap/rotor and wires.
I just tried the DME jumper fix at clark's garage, and I heard my fuel pump working - finally. But the car still will not start.
I have spark, the tach 'bounces', and the battery is fully charged. I checked the cap and rotor, and the allen screw - all seem fine.
What else should I be checking?
I already missed the first COM SCC races at Monticello, and want to get it running
Thank you!
