Default Feedback needed on aftermarket bumpers.

I'm putting the '44 on a diet, but trying to retain a level of interior comfort; so I'm looking at bumpers. I've seen the web sites, but want to know which ones offer the best fit/finish. I don't need perfection.

I have the GT racing bumper on the back and was suprised by how well it lined up right out of the box. When mounting I used washers to get the spacing I wanted, but no major sanding or cutting required.

+1. The GT racing rear bumper fits well, looks good, and saves a lot of weight. I weighed them both... stock is 30 lbs, GT is less than 4 lbs.

Nice. With the trim bumper on the back, the 951 rear valence actually makes sense. With the stick-out bumper, it always looked like a glorified drip pan; but when the bumper is flush, the gap looks much more purposeful.

Did you get a professional paint on it? I'm wondering if I could get away with a rattle-can job (assuming I can get guards red in a can).

I just used ones I had in the garage. IIRC I just re-used the stock mounting bolts and the appropriately sized washers (M8 maybe?).

Also I rattlecanned mine using colormatched paint from paintscratch.com. Still needs cleared, but looks pretty good just the way it as, like satin black.

GT Racing rear bumper and 951 rear underbody spoiler on my NA. I replaced the stock bumper when I had it repainted over the winter. I didn't have to do much other than space it a bit with some washers when I installed it.

There are place that will sell auto paint in a rattle can that's mixed to your color. I got some of that for my Miata's spoiler and it was about $20/can + shipping. I also need to get a can for some touch-ups on the 944 and the PT Cruiser. I forget who I ordered it from but I can dig it up later if you want.

BB.
