Default Please help (convertion tips)

Hey everyone,
My name is Kevin and Im new to the forum. I did a few hours of digging around and cant find to much info on converting the 944 spindle/hub to a center lock. I am in the middle of building a Mercedes race car that is powered by a 650 700 hp (estimate) 4g63 turbo. I decided I wanted to go with the 944 spindle and hubs due to my options with brakes and suspension components. I have already tubed out the front fender wells to run 10 inch wide wheels with some meet on the. I really would love to due the centerlock wheel convertion and would like to know has anyone done this? How hard? And is it full custom or not? I'm going to have a custom set of BBS RS 3 piece wheels made for the car so my options are unlimited. Hope someone could help a newbe... Also is there any company that makes aluminum spindles? Or should I say billet aluminum carriers with the steel spindle that protrudes threw it? I found a place that makes aluminum hubs but thats it. If not anyone know of anyone selling hubs and spindles for the 944ts?
Thanks
Kevin

what class of racing are you going to be in that lets you use porsche suspension and a mitsu engine?

I am not sure what you are talking about a "center lock" hub. Porsches have hub-centric wheels and all have steel hubs/spindles for the front. Why are you looking for a Porsche hub in particular especially when the lug patterns are different?

The turbo spindle has the protruding steel stub that the caliper and hub bolts onto and the only part that is aluminum is where the wheel studs sit. MBZ don't have studs on the hubs so the wheels bolt directly onto the rotors.

The reason I am asking is I don't see the advantage of going from mbz to porsche unless you are going to some huge big red brembo 4 piston calipers. Even then wouldn't it be easier to buy a 4 piston caliper kit for a MBZ? I don't believe aluminum spindles/hubs are safe especially for a mbz(heavy) race car when the heat generated by brakes are taken into consideration.

Well I want to run centerlocking rims as in a single lug that comes of the hub. Also I chose the hubs and spindle due to the fact there are more brake options as in big reds, big blacks, Ferrari f40, f50 calipers, ap racing, and stop tech. Also the car does not weight allot. It should weight about 1800 pounds when its completed...

Post over in the 911 boards as they would be able to help you out a lot better. I don't know of any 944's with centerlock setups but there are quite a few track 911's that do.
