The chip in the S DME is different, besides being 28 pin for 88-89 Turbos, it has different maps for the 26/8. I have an 88 nonS dme for sale, $210 shipped if you want, has stock chip for 26/6.

another turbo DME question, how much of the turbo DME's programming interfaces with the KLR? im wondering if i might somehow be able to adapt the KLR to my DME for my supercharger project (i know it is extremely unlikely but i might as well ask)
