The glorious condition of our roads caused these bends...I have seen many bent wheels from all makes and manufactures through out my automotive career. I, too, am running cup wheels on my '87 944S na have had 3 straightened and a 4th in need. It does not take much...the parting strip at a bridge to highway to create the PITA. Is the look worth the price of admission? Yes...my two cents worth...Rob

The roads around where I live are not very good at all for a lowered S2 with stiffer than stock suspension, but my rims are still reasonably true. One of the front rims isn't perfect, but last time it was checked when new tyres went on, not out of round enough to justify fixing -- at least not yet. Certainly no noticable vibration, etc...
I was told by the owner of a local custom mounting/alignment shop in Alpharetta that the greater the offset the more he sees wheels bent on the inboard side as opposed to the outer edge. He said it doesn't take a huge pothole to causes bends over time. He is located adjacent to a new Ferrari/Lamborgini dealership and constantly has wheels in his shop from them with the same problems.

I also had a set of early offset cup II replicas that I put on the car straight and took off all four bent. It cost more to get them repaired than they were worth. Lesson learned.

Mark, at the risk of going off topic, what suspension have you got on the S2? I'm looking at either 200 lb/in front with 26mm tbars or 250 lb/in with 27mm tbars.
