hmm I dunno why Robert is so against them removing the fender, because that is how this repair is usually done. I had my rear drivers quarter panel crushed in a year ago and had a Porsche bodyshop do the repair - $2000 for a new panel, matched paint, and blended paint into the areas around it, plus a new PORSCHE decal in back It looks great, has new underspray and all.

Rob- lets see a pic of before accident/after accident/after repair? I cant imagine welding up a hole and "reshaping" that hump over the rear wheels is easy or will ever look like a new panel. Its just welded on you know, the body should be fine, true there are a lot of weld points but a good shop should be able to manage.....

Robert's right, my rear-left quarter panel was in a bad way--bent in and dragged...there's was a 2"x16" paintless scraped gashed shoved in...A good body shop fixed it and painted it for under $700. Best looking panel on the car. I don't remember holes, but it was ugly. Made you not even want to drive it.

Skip, That's really hard to follow after a good steak dinner (read; with a few glasses of a good shiraz), remind me to tell you all about the time my wife hit me head on and totaled both cars someday.

Tim - Uh. . . . yeah. . . . It rubbed all of my nice dust off the bumper. It took weeks of hitting the passes to get that on there!!

Seriously though, not a freakin' scratch.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">I was just kidding.

Tim - I know. But it did amaze me that it didn't even scratch it. It's a beast of an '87 (the old body style that they used all through the 70's and 80's)

I can't wait to get her (my wife) in a nice sedan so I can go crazy with that thing too. Probably a 2" body lift (so I can retain the sway bars) and up the tires from 31 x 10.5's to 36's on spacers to give an overall 4" lift. Then comes the 454 matched to an upgraded 700r with a NP203 modified for part-time 4 wheel. 1 ton axles and dual shocks. Flat black (entire truck) w/ no chrome and a safari rack on top. Enough KC's to light the superdome, full Bull Bar on front with a 9000lb Warn. Tube bumper on back sealed and used for compressed air. Change the 30 gallon main tank for a 40 and add the 35 gallon mid tank.

OH YEAH!! Look out Mesquito Pass!!

Okay, so I'm still a redneck!!!

By the way, see you own a Katana. I used to have an '82 600 Katana. That was one of the first crotch-rockets available and I guess the market just wasn't ready. I think they offered the 600 and an 1100. Anyway, they stopped offering it for awhile until the market for that type of bike picked back up in the late '80. I wish I still had it!!

Well, . . .I like to consider it a "huppie"

Just enough Yuppie to know and enjoy the finer things mixed with enough hippie to be able to relax and float through life!!

Kind of a Jerry wannabe!

I AM the original huppie!!
