Post Fisher-Price - My first Porsche

Hello all,

Well, I finally gave in and bought myself one of Germany's best imports (Besides the beer, I mean). The forum looks great and judging by the small amount of posts I've read, so do the people. Look forward to spending lots of time here!

For those of you who are interested, my taste of Pork is a '89 944 Lux, one owner from new, full Porsche Dealer service hostory. You can see some pictures of her here http://www.verysideways.com/live/pages/james%27_porsche.htm

what was your first Porsche?

Awesome James! Great year those 89s are.

My first was an 87 924S.

Why don't you add your Porsche to http://www.p-caronline.com ?

My first Porsche is here: http://www.p-caronline.com/directory/admin2

Take care and again, welcome!

James,

Welcome to Rennlist. As you mentioned, there is a ton of great info and people here. Nice car--my first was a British Racing Green(I know, not appropriate for a P-car)1979 924 with the crazy dogleg 5-spd. It was a nice car, untill I blew it up.

Thanks Eric, I think the next thing I buy for my porker is a set of Fuchs. I think they look great on a 944.

How does one shift left handed and steer with the right on the "wrong" side of the road?- i'd be all fishimmeled.. left foot moving in tandem with my left hand... I guess i'd have to really try it- but my head hurts thinking about it. Nice car porklover-- BTW- explain the handle? It must be the beer i'm drinking that makes it all so confusing...

Thanks guys. Mike B the fuchs are a factory option in the UK, will I still needs the spacers?

Porklover, cos I love my porker! For some reason some people in England call Porsches - porkers. I'm sure there is a good reason, or maybe not.

Chris, Michael - I know, stearing wheel on wrong side. try with the other hand some time, it feels like someone else

Harry,

That 912 is awesome. Very clean car by the looks of things, you obviously love it more than both your hands!

thanx man! yeah, its pretty clean, there are some small scratches, the inside is ok though... small crack on the dash, and the window regulator is kinda chewed (have had to resort to vice grips to get it to roll up/down, cause the winder wouldnt grip it anymore) but i got a new one on e-bay so ill be putting that in soon. but other than that, its pretty clean.... well i take that back right now its pretty dusty... been sitting in the garage since october (winter storage), so its not clean at this moment... but thats just cause it needs a bath, too bad its this damn cold out. oh well thats what i get for living in ohio.

your 944 is lookin pretty good too! i think getting fuchs would definitely be a good move. some polished chrome fuchs (like the ones on mine) would look bad ***... looks very clean and shiny, definitely polished ones. hmm... or you could go with some flat black fuchs. now those would also look sweet, especially with the red of the car... yeah, i can see it now... black fuchs, and paint the molding flat black too... hehehe.. (oh **** now you really got me started...)
