Question Alarm system help again

As many of you might remember, a couple of months ago I could not get my alarm to cut off. I finally removed the alarm 'horn' and that solved most of the problem (at least the neighbors can sleep aat night now). But, the alarm system continues to go off (not audibly). When I lock the doors, all the lights flash as if the alarm was going off. How can I permantely disable the alarm system? I am so sick of this problem that I am considering selling the frickin' car!

Thanks for all help,

Steve (1989 944na)

Don't sell your car...just do this.

The alarm module is under the passenger floorboard. Crawl under the dash and grab the carpet under the dash, it is velcroed to a piece of plywood. Remove the 4 screws that hold the plywood in place the DME and the alarm module are behind the vertical bar. The alarm is a 2"x4"x1" black box. It has 2 plugs on the box. One has about 8 wires, the other 2 wires. PULL THE PLUG WITH the 2 wires. this will disarm the system. This worked on my '87.

Good Luck,

Craig

OK I have a battery Drain problem and I suspect the factory car alarm. I did what you said by pulling out the power wires form the alarm system in the footwell....but it still works.

any other suggestions?

thanks

Hi Steve,

I had the same problem, which turn out to be the
hood switch was broken and needed replacing.
Maybe worth checking all your door/hood/hatch switches, if you haven't already.
