I missed this video Henk. Great driving and result!! I thought the Green BMW was way too far out in front but you reeled him and drove away. Congrats.

Do you have any sump mods to help resist spun bearings? What oil are you using up in that heat? Are you going dry sump on the new motor? Any more progress from Michael?

Pat, Now we have the sump flap from lindsey and I put in an accusump. just put new main bearings and big end bearings in current engine so she'll run to year end. Put the 80mm pulley on the rotrex and will go dyno wednesday, expecting 350 rwhp since we had 320 with the bigger pulley. Running Motul 20w60 racing oil. The new one is dry sumped. I've been experiencing power losses due to clogged intercooler btw, a thing you wouldnt expect (well I didnt) hehe.

Michael is doing fine and so is the new engine. expectations have been reached ;-) but Michael thinks there is more to be had, so we just decided yesterday to spent a bit more time (and you know what) to see what else can be done. I'll then strip the car in December and rebuild her early next year with the new engine. Here's she is in the ICU

Great news Henk!
An exciting engine for the whole 944 community.
Now imagine force feeding that engine with a GT4088R at 1 bar

Finishing touches on the install of the NA engine. New racing season starting next week. We'll connect the airbox to the nose cone, through another carbon airbox. Its coming together.

Installed pedal box since we couldn't accommodate the brake booster anymore. Had to move back in the car quite a bit, now adjusting the gear lever to ensure easy reach for 3rd and 5th.

Henk - car looks brilliant. Have you had the car with the new engine on the track yet? How did it go?

I would love to hear your impressions vs the previous supercharged setup.

Nice progress Henk. Funny some of the things you write are similar to things I've encountered. Are you using a 968 gearbox too? I have found I occasionally miss 3rd gear on the downshifts and pick 5th. Better than 1st I guess!! I'm sure you won't even notice the new driving position. I thought it would be really noticeable moving back and down but amazingly I think you'll be looking ahead and not even thinking about it. The brake pedal will feel different. I don't have the sizes of the master cylinders we used but it felt pretty good to me. Where did you mount yours? The trick is learning not to modulate them like you do with a boosted system. I didn't have very long in the car to get used to it but I was looking forward to more practicing. They had a lot more feedback.

Can't wait to see some track video Henk.
