Default OEM O2 sensor wiring

Ok, so I'm poking at my friend's 951 and look at the exhaust pipe feeding the turbo. the first pic is what i find--a sensor that is complete cut off from the rest of the world.

Next, i go through his 'box of goodies' and find what appears to be an oem o2 sensor. Ive read everywhere that i will have to splice in an oem sensor. i can handle that. what i cant handle is the wire colors.

the second pic is the oem sensor i found in the box. the third pic is the plug from the oem that i have to deal with. i see no female plug like it on the car so i know im splicing. the fourth pic is the colors of the wires i have to splice. there's two black and one blue. the sensor on the car currently is two white and one black. What color do i splice to what color?

also, check out my other post this evening, https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...ese-plugs.html and please help me confirm which of the two black male plugs (bottom pic) is the o2 sensor plug that im supposed to be splicing in to.

on the oem sensor, the black wire is sensor, 2 whites are heater.

given that your new sensor is 2 blues and 1 black, i would guess that 2 blue is heater and 1 black is sensor.

One small suggestion... I don't think that plastic connector on your new o2 sensor is a good-to-have thing. The area around the downpipe is pretty damn hot (and inaccessible) and if you should melt through and short out the o2 heater, the fuel pump will quit (same circuit) leaving you stranded. Maybe you have a better solution but firebraid has worked well for me on insulating the sensor wires. I couldn't find a good (cold) tie-off point either. Just a thought....Bruce
