Default WTB- 968 six speed with LSD

Hello, I am looking for a 6 speed transmission with LSD, does anyone know of a good one for sale.

Also, anyone know what a fair price is for one?

Thanks
Mike

Check the classifieds - there are quite a few right now.

All I see is lots of 951 transmissions for sale.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks

Vehicle Classifieds, not parts classifieds.

the LSD on the 968 is the quife/torsen type, not the clutch type. they pop up used on a regular basis, and are about 1500 new. the clutch type LSD is more $$. I read that it is easy to put the LSD into a 968 - or should i say a lot easier than in a 924 box.

i think the 968 LSD is the same as the G50 LSD. not sure where i read that, but i did a lot of research on LSDs before deciding i wanted a clutch type instead of a torsen/quaife.

There's a guy in Bordentown NJ who's parting a 1990 S2 with LSD...78k miles and he wants $1500 for the trans.

Hope all's well in Col.

968 LSD gearboxes are hard to find. And yes it's relatively easy to install an aftermarket or g50 unit. A friend of mine bought a 993 torsen unit to install into his box.

I got an LSD in my current car. I decided it would be easier to sell the S2 and get the 951S with the M030 already there instead of swapping transmissions.

Wow, I am surprised to hear that it is a TB diff in there.

I need a clutch type diff. so now I am looking for a 968 six speed trans with open diff.

I may have to start a new thread for that.

Thanks for the info!

Tom, both types were sold-early cars had clutch type, later cars had the quaife/torsen type.
