New 944S2 owner soliciting wheel opinions
Hey boys and girls as of right now I am back in the 944 game. I've had a coupla 951 models, a 968 cab and a bazillion other P-cars. I just sold my 928S4 and got this on trade from another Rennlister, a minty garage queen '91 944S2 with 24k on the clock. She is bonestock and original with the exception of the wheels. Bazillions just spent on preventative maintenence so this car is freshy-fresh.
I do not care for the 18" reproduction wheels on the car. Those are coming off. I have set of stock, oe 17's off of my '95 993 Carrera 2. 7's and 9's with at et55 offset front and rear. These will fit my 'S2, correct?
Does someone have pics of a 944 with these wheels installed? I am debating putting these on the car <or> sourcing a set of oe D90 rims. Would it affect the resale value of my car much one way or the other, the wheel decision that is?
Thanks to all... opinions please.

Kie, beautiful S2!
I like both sets of wheels, too! I believe the 993 wheels will fit, but don't remember for sure. I got no photos, especially since I've got D90s on my car. Both of these wheel styles are the patterns I'm looking at for a spare set of wheels.

Thanks man I have yet to lay eyes on her but by all accounts this car is pretty much in the wrapper. I guess the spirit of my question has more to do with what is the nature of the garage queen 944S2 shopper (is there even such an animal?) as yes someday I see this car for sale. Will they want their pristine princess outfitted with the original rims or will they like it better "upgraded" with oe rims from a later model P-car?
According to everything I've read my 993 hoops will bolt up and fit proper:

I had a set of the Cup 2's on my S2 for many years. I think the offset was just off, not so that they did not fit, but they did not fill out the wheel wells as much as I would have liked.
I am now running a set of the Cup 1's, though not in 18" and they fill out the wheel well nicely IMHO.

I cant believe no one has said this yet lol.
They will fit, no problem. There are tons of people that run these, and dont use spacers either.
Heres a pic of them on my car with no spacers. If the wheels Riff was talking about didnt fit, right, and they were 18's... I *think* they could have been replicas. Im not sure if Cup 2's came in 18s?

The summer yellow 951 is mine....I had 18" cups for years on it and went to the oem 17" cups from a 993 and couldn't be happier. GL with the car as it looks great!

Thanks for all the replies. I'm getting more stoked about having this little guy all the time.
Hey not many opinions offered on the stock rims. When I see the black S2 with original wheels in J Berk's avatar that car just looks right to me. I'm guessing the resale of my car would be more or less the same no matter if it had the stockers or 993 hoops?

Clubsports are what I would LOVE to have on my S2. But, like you said, money IS an issue. C2s are probably what I will get as my second set of wheels, then I can decide what to run more rain/winter tires on later.

Clubsports aren't necessarily all that expensive - ones in ready to go condition can be had from dismantlers for $150 ea on the fronts, probably around $250 ea for the backs. Of course, you're only at 16x7 and 16x9, so tire options aren't necessarily as great.

Crap I know of a set of these locally as well. Too many decisions!
