Angry The car has a ding!

I think you guy's know how **** I am about this car. I work to keep it nice, so when something stupid happens...

<a href="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Dent1.jpg" target="_blank">http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Dent1.jpg</a>

My weedeater fell off of the hook on my garage wall last night and hit the front fender of the car. Put a pretty good sized ding, about the size of a quarter in the fender. I was a little upset-even the dogs wouldn't come near me. Anyone have good luck with paintless dent removal? Also-anyone want to take a stab at putting the weedeater back together--it's in a couple of pieces now

A good Dent Wizard can do wonders, I highly recommend the service.

Get one of those "ding king" things, I used one on my wifes Saab after a tree limb fell on the roof and the dent is 99% gone.

I'm guessing the weedeater paid the "ultimate" price for it's revolt..

Dentless removal should be a reasonable fix.

You oughta see my door from parking lots..
grrrr.

Yep, parking lots and no side-stripping did my car's doors pretty well...the hailstorm was the worst (insurance is good for some things!).

Find a DentWizards! I swear by them. Ive had 4 removed! Even bigger than that. Its worth every penny, and its reasonable for their work. Any trace of swirl of break in the paints lines are gone with them completely. They really make it like it never happened. I got one on my front quarter 2 days before a concours and in the reflection you could totally see the paint refract. After Dentwizards, it was not there, period. It never happened. I cant even tell where it used to be. Try them out, i dont think you can possibly beat their work. And they dont even touch the top of the car. (paint)

Good God! So thats what all that noise was, I thought it was the neighbors shooting off fireworks!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. There are a couple of paintless dent removal shops near me on Johnson Drive and on Shawnee Mission, I would give them a try. You can drop by my place afterwards, too, if you want!

So, I found a guy in Merriam-
Dent Physicians
99.9% gone, $100 cash. The only thing I can see is a mark on the car from the black plastic handle. Even that was under a bright "body shop" work light. I think I'll hit it with a little buffing compound.

Now I need to find a weedeater on sale-and a cabinet to hold it in...

I know what that feels like. 3 straight days at work I came out and found a small dent in the passenger side of my car from some a$$hole. The worst part is I actually saw one of the guys getting into his car and I asked him if he hit my car. He said no, but there was no way this heffer could have gotten into his redneck mobile without hitting my car. I park as far out as I can, and for some reason, people insist on parking next to me.

I just saw the repair that those guys did on Ben's car... holy smokes! No way could anyone ever tell it was there.

As a side note, Ben wants to sell that car. Its as good an example '83 as you are likely to find. Does anyone think I am crazy for wanting to trade my '86 cosemtically challenged but very good condition mechanically 951 with some goodies for it even up?

I think you're crazy. Your happy butt would be at my house for a couple of weekends addressing some of the issues your car has, although, to be fair I haven't had a reeeeaaly good look at your car. I'm pretty confident I can find a buyer for mine...

On a different side note. I left your house, and stopped at the gas station on Merriam. While I'm paying, some guy comes in to tell the cashier that the trash dumpster is on fire. I emptyed my whole fire extinguisher into that thing (in about 5 seconds)-knocked it down pretty good.

Scott, I'm going to mount my new larger fire extinguisher to the rear seat well. Can you help me fab a bracket that would mount to the seat rails?

Sure thing... let me know when you want to go at it.

To be honest with you, I doubt you'd be happy with my 951, unless you really wanted to take on a "project". Still, if ya wanna think about it, you'd at least know where you could find the PO, and he'd be happy to help you wrench on it. Or for that matter, if you know anybody else thats looking for a red 951, I'll sell it and buy your car.
