My car is snuggled in the garage hiding from the snow, so I'll have to wait till spring to play this game, BUT, FWIW..
A Handheld GPS is excellent at calibrating speedos, you could run at 70 indicated on the GPS, get your RPMs, run at 100 indicated on the GPS, get your RPMs, and then do a timed run between those RPMs.
