Question 964 calipers?

Hi,

Anybody know if it's possible to bolt 964 brakes into a 944? I checked the pieces from PET and sure enough the part numbers are not the same as in 944 turbo, but I just have this faint recollection of hearing somewhere that they're actually (almost) identical...

TIA!

I think so: the front calipers use the same size brake pads as a 951 or 944S2 uses: the calipers are identical. So theoretically, they should fit your 944S.

Sami,
just ask that kind of questions from our own club first....964 calipers are excately the same as 951.
BTW Pete sold his calipers, but mine are for sale since Pete & i have new calipers on their way from the Netherlands.

Only difference is that they are "upside down",because they're originally located forward of the spindle when ours are behind the spindle. So,if you buy calipers from 962/4 for 951 you have to switch bleeding screws with cross-over pipe and vice versa. And,of course, get adapters.
Also disks are the same.
962 Twin Turbo are completely different issue...I think that they are equipped with Big Reds.

And now's the time to to the sauna....
