Post Rolex 24 @ Daytona

Last I saw around 8:00PM EST the #66 Rennlist sponsored Porsche was not only winning its class...but also winning the whole dam thing!!

The prototype (i think it's a prototype car..) Porsche behind it was rapidly catching up to the tune of 5 or 6 seconds a lap...with a 60 second gap to close. So by now I'm sure that Porsche has taken the lead...

Where can we check the current standings online?
SPEED doesnt have coverage till 6:30AM tomorow morning...

Last I saw the 59 car (prototype)passed the 66 right before SV went off. Anyone see the Ferrari Flambee? Better yet anyone been to the race. I'm interested in if it's worth it and how expensive is it too attend, food, lodging, tickets etc.

According to the Daytona 24hr website, the #66 Porsche is in the lead by 30 seconds.

Total time is 11 hours and 12 minutes...

So...those corvette's....they were saying they beat Porsche's? Funny guys those chevy people...

Chris_924s,

On the main daytona 24hr page, Click "Zippo Timing" below "The Rolex 24 hours of 1997..."

Good **** so far! I knew it was a good thing when 5 of the 6 top cars were Porsches for most of the afternoon.

Looks like they just caught a break and were able to pit under yellow. They're still 2 laps ahead of the field! <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[jumper]" title="" src="graemlins/jumper.gif" />

Funny the DP cars are a bit quicker, they must be spending a lot of time in the pits.

I sure miss my Speed Channel...

hehe. So my friend calls me up at about 8:52. I had called him earlier to see if he wanted to go riding. Forgot all about the fact that he is in Daytona today. Could barely hear him. Then he tells me 'he is fueling the race car' while talking to me on the cell. and what is so neat about that? Oh did I mention he works for Brumos Race team?
