Cool My car is sold.

Today the guy who wanted my 944 checked it out thoroughly, put a deposit down, and will pick it up Tuesday. It'll be sad to see it go. It was my first Porsche and I learned a lot from that car. I got my asking price so now I'll be booking a flight to Denver to pick up a 1989 944S2. Hopefully the 1200 mile drive home will be uneventful.
Now I'll have to change my sig and my avatar.

Congrats! Feel free to plan a stop over in KC on the way back, we'll have the guest room ready for you. Its a pretty good halfway stopping point.

Regards,

I may take you up on that Scott. I'm not sure if I still have your cell #. E-mail it to me and I'll try to give you a call when I'm in the area.

It wont be quite the same seeing Pete without the white 944 with those great white fuchs, but I know he wouldnt give it up unless he thought he had a real keeper in the hopper. Still goodbyes are always hard when you get attached to cars so I know hes got mixed emotions. A toast to Pete, and a safe drive home!!

Glad to hear it Pete--I did the same move as you...from an 88 to an 89S2, and I am smiling now every time I hit the gas in first gear! More power, bigger sound...the 3L 16-valve engine is a big improvement over the 8Valver!

Did you post details about the new 89?? Miles, color, etc?

I hope this one's a keeper. It's good mechanically but a little rough on the paint and interior. My white one had a rough interior when I bought it so I know I can revive that. Maybe I can find someone to shoot the paint in a year or so.

Hey Chris, either I'm tired or your avatar isn't as fuzzy anymore.

Andy, Baltic Blue, 173K miles but with a recent top end rebuild from the previous owner. It's the one that Rennlister JFrahm was selling. I'll put up some pics when she gets home.

You're gonna love the extra power of the S2! Congrats, and have a safe trip.

I really like Petes current avatar too. He'll be hard pressed to beat that one.

I want to be the OFFICIAL 944PETE AVATAR PHOTOGRAPHER of the new ride.

I hope the person who bought the white one uses the same avatar.

Congrats. on the sale Pete. I showed my wife your car and she really liked it. Oh well the right one is out there for me. By the way did you sell it to a fellow rennlister or tell him about the site? Hate to not see the car anymore. I put the pic. of it in the lot with all the other Cayanne's as my Wallpaper just incase we don't see it again.

Congrats Pete, we all know that feeling of picking up a new car, just like when you were ten years old on Christmas morning.

That sounds great Pete. Definately have to post us updates on the purchase, flight and drive back. You could stop and give us an update when you stop @ Scott's in KC.

Again, great!

Your 944 is the one on the rennbay.com header. Great looking car but I am sure the next one will be just as good.

Good to hear Pete!! Congrats! I'd be happy to help with the paint on this one too.

I am also intrested to know if you sold it to a member, or if you passed the good word to the new owner. I am sure you did...

Can't wait to see it! Congrats again, although tough to let the 1st one go. I put so much blood, sweat, and tears in that one with you!! Did I mention sweat? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
